On the morning of 5-28 -25, Mom got up later than I liked, but we were still able to go in the morning, once we got there, we looked at all of the Budgies, or parakeets. Until one of them caught my eye, but my mom also saw one that looked just like Sammy, and I told her that I didn't think that Sammy would want a minnie version of himself. So, we kept on looking and told the young lady that wanted to help us, that we were still looking, but we both looked at the one I liked, and then Mom liked the same one, with a pretty white head, and we liked the bird's color a smokey kind of blue, and Mom liked the wings too, there was some of the same blue at the top, with white and black. We watched the bird as it kissed another bird, and I thought they were a pair that I did not want to break up, but he left, or the one we were watching left. Then while we waited, the bird took a little nap, but it's also opened and checked to see if we were still there. Mom and I talked about it, and we knew that we had a connection. When the young lady returned, we decided to pick out the cage first, then after some looking, we all decided that the 22- inch -tall cage from Essential Home was the one that would be good, it was bigger and it would allow Gracie to fly a little it also allowed more space. Once the cage was in the cart, I selected a new toy, it was a mirror that was decorated like a back board with red lines on it, along with a red basketball on a chain with a metal bar and a white hoop. Then, we went back over to the enclosures, and we were ready to get our new feathered friend. We showed her the bird or Budgie that we wanted, and she was sure that the bird was a female. She also thought that the name Gracie Rose was cute. She caught Gracie for us, and put her in a bigger box, so we talked about how to put the bird in the cage, I told her what happened to Sammy, so she suggested to do it in a dark room, or turn the lights off, and that Gracie would land on the floor, so that I could pick her up, and place her in the cage. She also showed me some paper litter that was for cats, but it was made of the same material, and it was dust free, so we decided to try it out. I also filled out Gracie's adoption papers, then we paid for everything, and when we walked out, I was afraid it was too hot even for the late morning, but GOD took care of that, HE sent clouds and a cool breeze! Still, I made sure that we got Gracie into the car, Mom held her, with a seatbelt on, and I finished putting everything into the trunk, on the way home, we talked to her, called her Gracie Rose and she surprised us when she chirped all the way to our house! I think she was the first bird to do that. Still, she was not a fan when I had to stop the car, but we got her home safely, I took her into the house, and she was happy to be out of the car. I let my mom in, and I brought in the cage and other things, before I ate the fastest breakfast, after I took her to my room. I wanted Sammy to see that he had a new friend, before we had left that morning, he had mastered how to turn on the fountain with his chirps, but he did not mind when I took it away. Gracie's box sat on my dresser across the way from Sammy, and I put that cage together really fast, because Gracie's box was moving around, I even saved her from falling off, she was a little jumping bean! She wanted out of that box, so I set up the toys, gave her some millet, her seed and water, and then I was ready to put her in her new home. I was also relived when I saw that her box went right into the new cage, so I slowly opened the box and helped her out. After I said, "Hi girlfriend, Hi Gracie Rose," I put some towels and her cover, before I carried her back to our room. Then, I allowed Sammy some time to get to know Gracie, he studied her, but he was a lot happier and that night he started softly gurgling again! The next morning on 5-29-25, Gracie Rose was ready for her first picture that I took with my cell phone and here it is. She posed with her foot in her feathers. I also think she closed her eyes, Aww.
Gracie also came with a requirement she had to see a Vet as part of her care. I will share more of her story and about the Avian Vet search next time. Until Next Time! Enjoy Your Weekend! God Bless! *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)

Re:Gracie Rose 5-28-25 Date Posted:10/31/2025 9:17 PMCopy HTML
So, the following Monday, I talked to my Internet company, and she set up a Tech for that Tuesday, and no one came, I stayed home all day, looked out for the tech and nothing. I contacted them again, and they set up a tech for Wednesday, the tech went to another location which they do, and I had the Internet, when I checked the Status on my computer, however, the modem caused a problem! So, I talked to them again, and I had to get a new modem, a new account, I leased the modem it was cheaper. They also had to assign a new telephone number, but I did not have to have a landline. They completed the order, and my new modem was going to arrive on that following Friday, my activation was going to be 5PM, and I was told the modem would be activated upon arrival and set up. I did manage to keep our security system quiet: the modem came last Friday around 7:30 PM. I set it up a couple hours later, and then I watched my CBS Friday night line up to 10 PM. On last Saturday, I checked the Status on my computer, and it talked about trying to use an old DNS or a DNS that did not exist. So, on Sunday evening, I texted with my company, and a tech was set up for Wednesday, and I prayed that Wednesday would be the day, and I would see all green. I also asked GOD if I could have the tech come in the morning, I was strapped in that 8 AM to 5PM and that was my choir day. Well, not long after my prayer, I got another text saying the tech would come between 8 AM and 12 PM! I praised the LORD! The tech came did some work in my box, but the modem was still flashing blue, he came in to see it, he wanted to know what it was doing, he explained to me that the flashing blue meant I had no IP. He called his company that have the modems, talked to another guy, then I told him what my computer said on Saturday, and he told me another customer had that, and she opted to buy a new PC, which is not an option for me right now. So, he went back to the main box at another location and came back and I had Internet! The modem had a solid green light, the router's light turned green, my phone was happy again! I hugged him and told him that he just ended all of my nightmares. He wanted me to check my computer, and my computer was happy, and that morning I could not stop praising GOD. I thanked him over and over I did discover that our security system had to connect to the new Internet, so I tried yesterday, and I still had no luck, but again after a prayer, I tried again and it connected! So, now our security system is happy too! I am still trying to figure out why the TV won't connect, but that will be another day. I am just happy to be back, and I am ready to post again. Back in June, I looked at a webpage I had saved, and I found avian vet care for Sammy and Gracie! Here is the URL: Finding a Veterinarian for Your Feathered Friend I was so happy, and not long after that I called an animal clinic that was not too far from me. During the phone call, I gave my personal information, and Sammy Lee's information they wanted to know his color, age, among some other details. I also told the person about Gracie, her age, her colors, and I told her that Gracie was very energetic. Then, I shared what time I preferred, I said morning so that they would not be out in the heat too much. They were very busy, but I got them an appointment for July 25th! I praised GOD when I hung up and I excitedly told my mom "Sammy and Gracie have a Vet!" Next week, I will try to share more and about their first visit with their Avian Vet. Until Then! Stay Safe! Happy Halloween to my fellow Americans and all who celebrate it! God Bless! Don't forget to Fall back this weekend if you live in a Zone where DST ends, set your clocks back an hour. *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)
