Now here is my first review that I had posted on his Official Website, it got lost and I never posted it again. Until, I felt like sharing it.  It is a very special memory for me and I have it in a special place.  I hope everyone enjoys reading about my first experience in Orlando.

Hello everyone !  I started typing the lost review tonight , and I did some tweaking , because I had spelled all of the golf terms wrong.  How embarrassing !  However, you all will get to see them spelled correctly.

My First Smucker's Stars On Ice Experience

We left our hotel at 5:45 PM , and arrived at the TD Water House Centre, it was a huge venue.  When we walked closer to the venue, I saw a guard behind a gate and these signs that said, "Pre-Show Reception."  I was thinking to myself , Wow!  Alexei is in there!   Then, we had some time to kill, so we walked around, and we came to the end of our sidewalk where another guard was sitting, and a little on down aways from him, I saw two huge semi trucks with trailers and a bus!  I said to my mom and dad, "That has to be the skaters transportation."  So, my dad told the guard that I was a big fan of ice skating , and that I wanted to know if those were what the skaters used.  He said, "Yes it is, and they are already inside."  I was excited, and I exclaimed, "Wooo Hoo! I got to see the trailers the skaters came in!"   Then, I looked all around outside for a fellow AYMB member, we made plans to meet, but I could not find her.  Then, the doors finally opened , and I was the first one to buy a program.  Wow! The program was worth the $15.00.  The ushers opened doors to the stadium, and we walked in, before we looked for section 112. Once we found our section, we walked down to row P, was not as close as I would have liked, but we were still close to the ice, just not on the ice .

Before the show began, I looked at my program, and my seat neighbor came and told us that we were stuck. So, I continued looking at the program.  My neighbor saw the picture of Alexei, and she said, "Oh, I like him."  I was thinking to myself , Cool!  I can yell and she won't get mad!  Yes!  So, we began talking about Alexei , and I also helped her spell his last name on her little SOI survey.  I told her that I put him down too, and that I was a fan, and a member of his Official Website, then we talked about our seats, and when we bought our tickets. I probably also mentioned that I had moved to Florida , from Indiana, and that this was my very first show for Stars On Ice . Then, the lights suddenly darkened, and we all started cheering, , but then we discovered that it was just a false alarm. We had 10 more minutes to wait!

So, I introduced myself , and I told her that my name was Suzanne.  She said her name was Paula, and her husband was Tony.  So, we chatted until the lights lit up in the black curtain, and the lights dimmed back to darkness.  I was so ready, and I thought , YAY we are finally getting on with the show!  Then, I saw a figure skate out, and I seriously thought it was Alexei.  So, I yelled really loudly, during a moment of complete silence, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, "ALEXEI!"
Paula said, "That is not Alexei, that is Todd."  I really did not know why Todd skated out like that, the show had not begun yet and he went back into the black skating tunnel.  I was embarrassed out of my mind, and I replied with. "Oh No!"  Then, I hid my  face in my hand for a few minutes.  Paula just said, "You were letting them know who you really want to see."  I felt a little better, and then the show did begin with Jamie Sale and David Pelletier came skating, followed by Elena Berezhnaya, Anton Sikharulidze, Todd Sand and Jenni Meno, Kyoko Ina, along with John Zimmerman.

Then, the next person that skated out gave me a heart attack, because I did not see him listed in the program, or the cast performance sheet, and that was Scott Hamilton!  Then another person I enjoyed seeing, Kurt Browning, and then Alexei came skating out fast after Kurt Browning .  When , Alexei came out I really did not know that it was him.  Then, Paula said, "There's Alexei."  The reason why I did not recognize him, was because of his hair color,in most of the pictures I had seen on the Internet, he had blond hair.  So, I was looking for the blond hair, and on that night he had his hair a natural light brown.  So, I yelled, "Alexei!", while I was thinking, Boy, I am at zero for two tonight.   Then, my dad made me laugh when he called Kyoko Ina , Toyota!  I just laughed really hard, and I said, "No it is Kyoko Ina."
Then, Rene Roca and Gorsha Sur skated out, before Katarina Witt joined the rest of the cast.  When the cast were being introduced, I whispered to Paula, "Let's stand up for Alexei."  So, when the announcer said, "Olympic Gold Medalist, Four Time World Champion, and Three Time European Champion, Alexei Yagudin ."

Paula and I were out of our seats, on our feet, clapping and cheering for Alexei.  Then, the cast started skating to The Great and Powerful Oz .  The song was really upbeat, and all of the skaters were wonderful, but to be honest I was watching Alexei , and he landed a clean triple AXEL , before I cheered and clapped for him.  Then, the skaters slowly left the ice, and Katarina came out of the tunnel, to give Alexei his leather jacket.  He looked so good in that leather jacket, and he really got my heart pumping.  The highlight of Born to be Wild  was Alexei's knee slide, he slid down the side next to my section, and then he skated really fast and fell to his knees again, before he slid in front of my section! Wow!  He was awesome , and of course I stood up for him at the end.
After Alexei did his bows to each section , he left the ice , and I think that was when I had a seat lol.  Once he had gone back into the skating tunnel, Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman came out and skated to Bed of Roses.  I thought that their performance, was powerful and moving.

John did catch the back of his skate on the edge of the wall, and he had a little fall, but the Orlando audience clapped supportively for him.  Kyoko and John were so graceful , and they had a warm reception from the crowd.  Then, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier skated to, Come Fly With Me.  Those two were breathtaking , and they landed every jump, and wowed us all.  After Jamie and David bowed and waved to each section, Todd Eldredge came skating out, and he showed us his emotional side with Channel 1 Sute  and I thought that his scratch spin was incredible, he had improved, he still loved to skate, and anyone could tell.  After Todd bowed, smiled, and left the ice, Scott Hamilton came out pulling his golf bag. He tested the breeze, and took out his drivers, wiggled a little, and took a shot, it was really funny when some one in the audience yelled out, "Fore!"  Then, he hit some ducks, before I finally heard the title of the performance, Double Bogey Blues.  We were all amazed , when his bag that was on the other side of the ice rink, and his club flew out of from the bag over to him, and he caught it!  He was really funny and a crowd pleaser.

Re:My 2003 Stars On Ice Review

Date Posted:09/11/2018 1:43 PMCopy HTML

Hello !  Welcome to Once Upon A Dream, I just finished typing more of my review from the show in 2003.  Some of my favorite memories are in this part .  I hope you all enjoy it .

Once Scott finished his bows to each section, he left the ice.  Then, Katarina Witt skated out with John Zimmerman and Gorsha Sur.  Their performance was a comical number to Hotter than Blue.  She had John and Gorsha eating out of the palm of her hand, and then she went and sat on an older gentlman's lap in the audience.  So, the two men went and flirted with two women in the audience, before she sauntered over to them, and they hurried back to be with her.  I thought that they all were very entertaining.  After the audience gave the three of them some love, Alexei skated back out for Over Come.  Wow!  I knew the song by heart, and I kind of hummed along , while I was being moved by his passion.  I loved watching Over Come LIVE!  I fanned myself during his slow push up on the ice, and it was a good thing that he was not facing my section.  His foot work was outstanding and it was even more exciting to see it LIVE !  I yelled, "Wooooooo Hoooooo!", as he did his straight line foot work, so my cheer followed him from one end to the other.

Paula and I stood up for him again, and he waved to our section, so I waved back.  Then, Jenni Meno came out with a rose, and she tried to give it to Alexei.  He pointed at himself, and mouthed , "Me?"  She shook her head as if she were saying, "Yes."  He shook his head, and did a motion with his hand, and I thought it looked like he was saying, "He is taller than me!"  Then, he put his head down in his hand. He was so adorable, then he lifted his head, and said, "No", and he shook his head again, and acted like he did not want anything to do with it.  Then, he ran and skated very fast off of the ice, and back into the black skating tunnel.
So, she pretended to pout, before she had another idea and she said, "Aha!", before she skated over to a gentleman in the on ice section.  He turned her down too, and she pouted again, then Todd Sand came skating out , and he showed her , that he would be everything she ever wanted in a man in I'm Your Man.  He was very funny and we all could tell that those two had great chemistry between them.  Then, Kurt Browning skated out onto the ice, and he skated to a love song called, How do you Keep the Music Playing.

I told Paula, or my mom and dad that I had just heard that song on the radio, on the Thursday night before we left for Orlando. I loved the power and the emotion.  Kurt Browning portrayed some one who longed to know how he could make love last.  After Kurt gave us smiles and bows, Todd Eldredge , Elena Berezhnaya , Anton Sikharulidze , Jamie Sale, and David Pelletier came skating out.  Todd did some monologue about the feelings and fears that striving to be the best and to be the best can cause.  Then Jamie Sale and David Pelletier started performing to Sing Sing Sing, and no one had any falls.  The lifts demonstrated power and strength, during Power Play.  I stood up for all of them at the end , before there was a 20 minute intermission.

Once the intermission had begun I took that time to go check out the merchandise.  While, I looked around I saw a picture of the cast for $6.00, so I went back to my seat to get my money.  I also told Paula what they had for sale, and we went back to the merchandise booth together.  After we arrived at the booth, I saw a picture of Alexei!  There were only two left, and I asked about the price of the autographed one of him, and I found out that it was too expensive for me to buy.  It was $20.00 and I did not have enough money .  So, I bought the picture of him from Born to be Wild
Paula wanted the same picture of Alexei, so the lady behind the counter said, "I can take the one off from the wall for you."  We told her that , that was so nice of her, and we thanked her.  Then, Paula said, "Now , we have the same picture, and where ever we are in the world, we will know we have this picture, and remember this night."  It was really sweet of that woman to do that.

Then, we made it back to our seats and waited for the second half of the show to begin.  Then, the minute I heard the music, I knew that it was time for the cowboys.  I told Paula, "Ooooo this is the cowboy number , you are going to love this!"  That song was, A Little Less Conversation , and the performance was called, Studz, and a few minutes later Elena Berezhnaya, Kyoko Ina, Jenni Meno, Renee Roca, Katarina Witt, and Jamie Sale came out, and got all of us to clap along with them .  Then, the Studz skated out, and when I saw Alexei, I yelled, "Yeeeee Haww, Go Alexei!" The men shook their pelvis bones just like Elvis.  Wooooo Hoo , I loved Alexei's cartwheel, I also loved the song. I was bopping my head along with the beat.  Then, Kurt Browning, David Pelletier, Todd Sand, Gorsha Sur, Alexei and John Zimmerman did those push ups , and my section had the back side view.

Whew!  My temperature rose!  Whew those boys could move!  I certainly stood up at the end of Studz, for those studs .  Then they left the ice, and Katarina Witt skated to The Rest Of Your Life. Her touching, soft, emotional, and wonderful skating settled us all down once again.  After she gracefully bowed, Scott Hamilton skated back out, and his performance was a comical number to the song, That's life .  The crowd loved him, including me, the whole arena was on their feet.  Scott loved it, he said, "Who me?", and pointed at himself. We just clapped and cheered for him some more.  So, he kept on bowing and going on and he looked like he was saying, "Oh you all are too much!"

Re:My 2003 Stars On Ice Review

Date Posted:09/11/2018 1:50 PMCopy HTML

Hello again !  I hope you have enjoyed reading it, I certainly have enjoyed remembering this show.  I think it was one of my favorite shows that I was so lucky to watch Alexei perform in . I was so happy after the show, and my mom and dad were really excited about it too, we went to Pizza Hut afterwards and we were talking about it, and my mom and I high fived lol it was a wonderful time in my life .  After we finished our pizza , we were still way too excited to sleep lol.  Our hotel was by an amusement park , don't quote me on this , but I think it was called Old Town or something like that, so we spent the late evening there walking around , and then I could hardly sleep that night lol.  All right here is the conclusion .

After Scott Hamilton exited the ice, Todd Eldredge appeared on the ice and skated to Miserere .  He was powerful, and he skated from his heart, the music just flowed from with in.  He landed his jumps clean, and I stood up for him at the end of his performance too.  Then, Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur 's performance was the Prayer, that song gave me chills and goosebumps. The two of them looked like they were dancing with each other , and their lifts were so beautiful.  They had expressions on their faces that emitted love and respect for each other. Their performance was truly moving.  After Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur's performance was over, the audience showed them their appreciation by clapping and cheering.

Then, Kurt Browning came out and made everyone laugh, when he skated a performance called, Slippery Side Up.  At the beginning of it, he had on his skate guards, and he carefully stepped out onto the ice.  Then, he almost fell, and he quickly hopped back onto the platform, before he had a seat on a man's lap to remove his skate guards.  I was already laughing, then once he had them off , he skated around and acted silly, while he chased after a rainbow.  The rainbow was portrayed as a green light, he did have powerful jumps that he landed cleanly on.  His foot work was great, and he was another crowd pleaser.
At the end, some one threw him a rope, and he was making us laugh again, as he kept on trying to reach it. Then, he finally got a hold of it, and wrapped the rope around him, and he yelled, "Bye!"

After he yelled, "Bye!" , he waved to every one , before he was pulled back into the black skating tunnel.
Once Kurt was gone, we all kind of settled down, but Kyoko Ina, John Zimmerman, Jenni Meno, Todd Sand, Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur got us all to laugh again, when they skated in a performance called, Love on the Rocks .  John, Todd, and Gorsha were trying to show their love, and affection to the ladies.  The ladies were not too interested in what they all had to offer.  Then, they skated together, and had clean landings on all of their jumps.  I really enjoyed , Love on the Rocks.  After they all bowed and smiled , and we clapped very loudly, Kurt Browning came back out pushing two dollies that had white sheets covering their cargo.

Then, he took out a feather duster , and dusted off the sheet, and he pulled the sheet off.  After one of the sheets was pulled off, Elena Berezhnaya came to life! Kurt pretended to be really scared when Anton's sheet began to move all by itself! Kurt was so scared , that he skated back to the black skating tunnel, as fast as he could.  Anton took his sheet off, and he was dressed like Elvis . I thought that he did a really great job playing Elvis, and I also thought that Elena was a cute Marilyn Monroe, in Mme. T After Hours.  The pair skated to hits by Elvis and Marilyn, and they were very entertaining.

Then, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier turned up the romance, in Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin.'   I was amazed at how high Jamie flew into the air , when David tossed her up for a triple twist flip.  She had perfect rotation in the air, it was truly spell bounding.  When they bowed and waved, I stood up for them too.  The atmosphere around me was filled with electricity and heat, it really did not have the chance to die down either, because Alexei came skating out really fast for Racing .  My eyes never left his movements, and he pumped his fist into the air after he landed all of his jumps clean as a whistle.  I could hear his skates , as they landed on the ice !  I loved hearing that famous THUD that his skates made.  His moon walk was very smooth, and he had my heart racing, he had awesome sit change spins.  I stood up for him when his performance was over, he really brought the house down, and added even more electric energy to an already electrically charged environment.

As I stood up for him, I raised my hands way above my head and cheered.  I was really excited when he blew a kiss to my section!  I was also very happy to see him smiling, he looked very happy.  He made me smile, and I was very glad that he had such an awesome show.  When he turned to another section, I yelled, "I love you, Alexei!", after I sat down in my seat. I did not have the guts to yell it while he was facing my section.  I was also really proud to be apart of the crowd in Orlando, they all knew how to yell.

After Alexei , left the ice each member of the cast returned for one last performance, called, Can't Stop .  I wished that they didn't have to stop, but I knew everything had to come to an end. I loved the line they all made with Alexei and they all did his fast foot work.  Wow! Every one stayed in perfect step, and they all had fun shaking their shoulders and giving us one last dance filled with excitement, energy, and thrills.  All of the men looked very handsome in their black shirts, but my eyes watched Alexei the most lol.  It was a night that I would never ever forget .  The show was spectacular, and I enjoyed the members of the cast giving us a friendly wave good- bye , before we started to exit.

Enjoy and share your special memories too, if you would like.

Re:My 2003 Stars On Ice Review

Date Posted:09/11/2018 1:57 PMCopy HTML

While I was thinking about my first time seeing Alexei and Smucker's Stars On Ice , I remembered something really cool.  I think I left this out of my review when I posted it before, or maybe I didn't .  I always had other memories of the shows pop up and I would add them to my posts, so nothing has changed lol.  Any way, during Can't Stop the cast scattered out and went to different sections, and Jamie Sale came to the section next to mine to the right.  She quickly came up close to where I was , maybe a few rows down to shake people's hands sitting there. I thought that was really nice of her to include them too.  However, the coolest moment happened at the section to the left, when I looked a few rows down, and maybe over, and that moment was watching Alexei shake hands with some people,  I kind of forgot about Jamie lol, my eyes could not stop looking at him .  I think I was too far up to hear what he was saying, but I guessed from reading past reviews from shows that he was saying, "Thank you for coming to the show."  Something along those lines.  It was amazing to get a little closer glimpse of him .   I think that is all that I wanted to share.

Stay tuned for my next review from 2004, when I had quite an adventure taking my first poster that I made for Alexei .

Take Care !
