Part One Dreams Come True I could not believe that I was actually going to see Alexei skate in person, in a real competition. There was a feeling in the air that I could never have felt through the television. I had so many emotions whirling around inside of me, that I could not explain all of them. I was excited, nervous, anxious, and much more. I politely applauded for the other skaters competing at the 2003 World Championships. I had chills from sitting so close to the ice. Then when Alexei came skating out, I thought that my heart would not pound any harder. He began his short program a revisit of Prilyudie ,he danced with that rose with such passion, and tenderness that I felt very faint. As he reached out to some of the audience members with the rose, I wished that I could touch it. Then when Alexei's short program performance was over, I stood up and clapped with the crowd. As Alexei blew his kisses to us, I started to blush, and I kept on wanting to pinch myself ,to make sure I really was there seeing him in person . He smiled and his dancing blue eyes laughed with glee and joy. He loved skating and it showed in his actions. He went over to the Kiss and Cry and he received 5.8s and 5.9s, for his technical marks. He received a couple 6.0s for presentation. He waved once more to the crowd before he left the Kiss and Cry. I was already under his spell , and I could hardly wait to see him in the long program. The day of the long program had finally arrived , and as I was sitting in the stands , I still felt the same energy that I had felt two days ago. The skaters were warming up and concentrating on their programs and jumps. I could not take my eyes off of Alexei, it just seemed like was in command of my attention. Although, he was unaware that he had that affect on me. I sat up from the couch and I watched his every move, expression, and jump when he won that night, my heart soared for him, as it was doing now. He landed every triple Salchow, and toe loop combinations. When he did his quad jump I yelled, "Yes Alexei, I knew you could do it!" Then I sat back down embarrassed from my outburst. He skated to the Kiss and Cry , and he awaited his marks. We were all silent as the marks were shown. He received 5.9s and 6.0s for his technical score and 6.0s all across for presentation. The crowd went crazy with applause. Alexei came out to receive his fifth gold medal. I was so happy that he was the World Champion. I started to cry as his anthem was played. He looked at his Russian flag with admiration and honor. We all exited the arena, and I was not expecting to see Alexei again. However, he was standing close to me getting his picture taken with his gold medal. He looked my way at the same time I looked his way, I bravely said ,"Congratulations, Alexei." He was starting an interview at the time ,so I thought he did not hear me. I was almost out the door when, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and there was Alexei standing right beside me. He said, "Excuse me, but did you say something?" I said, "Yes, Congratulations, Alexei." Alexei smiled and said, "Thank you uh......." I said, "Suzanne." Alexei replied, "Thank you, Suzanne." He spoke my name, and I felt like I was being touched by an angel. Then Alexei took my picture and autographed it for me. I thanked him for the picture and he returned my gratitude with a hug and two kisses on each cheek. I returned his hug and gave him two kisses. I was floating out of the arena and to my hotel room, while I looked at the two of us smiling. Then I read what he had written on the picture of us. To Be Continued *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)

A few months had passed since I went to the 2003 Worlds competition. The dreams that came true still seemed unreal, but exciting at the same time. I was staring at the picture of Alexei and I for the thousandth time. Reading what he wrote, and day dreaming of him. Then, I turned the picture over to the back, and I noticed a telephone number. I was so curious I wondered who wrote the phone number , I thought to myself, Who wrote this number? Who does the number belong to? I swallowed my fears and dialed the number. The phone began to ring, my heart began to pound. Then I heard a Russian male voice say, "Hello?" My heart was pounding so hard, I was sure the person on the other end could hear it. When I managed to speak, I said, "Hello, this is Suzanne and I met Alexei at the 2003 Worlds. I found a number on the back of the picture we took together". He cut me off by saying, "Suzanne, how are you?" I was taken aback, I said, "Alexei?" Alexei replied with, "Yes this is Alexei!" I said," I am sorry for calling you." Alexei said," Don't be I gave you my number so that you could call me." I finally relaxed and asked him how he had been. Alexei told me that he had been very busy with practices, and going to photo shoots, and interviews. He said he was ready for a break. I replied with, "Yes, I guess it can be hectic." Alexei apologized for bringing our phone conversation to an end, but he had to go practice with his coach, Tatiana. We said our good byes. After I hung up the phone, I still could not believe that I just had a phone call conversation with Alexei Yagudin. A couple weeks passed and the phone rang. I answered it and it was Alexei again. I was wondering how he found my phone number and I asked him about it. He explained that he found my phone number off of an advanced website that he found. Alexei and I ended up talking for four hours. Then he said he had to go again. I found myself really liking Alexei, he was so charming and easy to talk to over the phone. I knew in my heart it was hopeless, because Alexei was in Connecticut and I was staying with my sister, Lynn in Indiana. Still I also found myself dreaming of what it would be like to spend some time alone with Alexei. To Be Continued  *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)

Part Three The Perfect Night Alexei called me again a month later, and told me that he was coming to Indianapolis, Indiana with Stars on Ice. I was excited to hear that he was coming to my sister's state. I said, "Alexei I will buy a ticket most definitely." Alexei laughed and replied, "No you do not have to buy a ticket. I am sending you one, a free one in the mail." I was so silent, then I asked him if he was kidding. He told me he was not kidding and I thanked him over and over again. After Alexei's second phone call, a few weeks later, the ticket arrived, then when the day of the show arrived, I was in a hyper mood during that whole day. However, I spent most of my time and energy, while I went shopping for the perfect gift. I knew that throwing gifts to the skaters in the show was not allowed, but I was still going to buy Alexei somethings that were very special. Because ,I still hoped that I could find another way for Alexei to receive them from me. I went to a local department store, and I looked around in a stuffed animal bin , and I found one of the perfect gifts, when I noticed a blond stuffed cocker spaniel, and I decided to use some thick , blue ribbon that I had found in a craft department, to tie around the dog's neck with the gold coin attached to it, like a gold medal . I could not wait to get back to my sister's house, but then I had another idea hit me, for the other perfect gift, and I went to a flower shop and picked out seven roses. Six of the roses were a golden yellow to represent Alexei's five World titles, and the other one represented his Olympic gold medal. All of these were placed around a red rose in the center. I picked that one because, it reminded me of the day my dreams came true . Once, I had all of my purchases, that I needed, I hurried back to my sister's house, and I spent the rest of that afternoon , getting the gifts ready for the perfect night. A few hours before I left for the show, I got ready with the help of my niece, Sydney. She picked out a yellow blouse, with dark blue jeans , that had little yellow flowers on the pockets. I started to get very anxious, and I could not hide my excitement, and Sydney had to give me the gifts , before I went out the door . When I arrived at the Conseico Field House. My seat was very close to the ice, and I could not wait for the show to begin . A few minutes later, all of the skaters came out, and my heart began to pound like a fast beating drum the minute I saw Alexei. He had blonder hair, but he always looked the same way in my eyes, no matter what he changed. He skated to Prilyudie first then he performed my favorite program Lawrence Of Arabia.I stood up and clapped my hands while I loudly cheered for him ,as he did his famous bows and kisses. I was also wondering how I was going to get my tokens of affection to him. Alexei must have read my mind, because he came over to me. I handed him the cocker spaniel stuffed animal, and the roses. He smiled and bent down to kiss my cheek. I still remembered the spicy woodsy scent, that I had smelled on that day, as his lips brushed both of my cheeks. When he pulled himself away, his eyes never left mine, but then it was time for the finale. Alexei handed his gifts to one of the security guards. He skated in the final act and I was so moved after the show was over, that I felt like I was glued to my seat. Then Alexei surprised me when he came over to my section and asked me if I would accompany him to dinner. I gladly accepted his invitation to dinner. He walked out to the car with me, and we went to a Chinese restaurant where he picked out a quiet corner. It was just us, I felt as if we were the only people left on the planet. Our food came but Alexei did not eat, his hand reached over and he clasped his strong fingers around mine. I broke the trance and I began to eat my sweet and sour chicken . Alexei cleared his throat, and said, "I loved your gifts, they have touched my heart in a special way". I replied by saying, "Alexei, I am so glad you loved them, I was hoping you would." He smiled that huge smile, that lit up his whole face and eyes. He finally began to eat his meal which was similar to sushi. After our meal was finished, Alexei gave me a mint, and paid for the meals. He had insisted that I let him pay until I finally gave in and let him. We decided that it was a beautiful evening for a walk, and we walked around for awhile, until we came to a bench, and Alexei stopped me with his hand grabbing mine. We sat down and began to look at the countless stars. Then I felt Alexei's strong arm slowly creep around my shoulders. We sat there for a few more moments in comfortable silence listening to the symphony that the crickets made. Alexei's face leaned closer to mine that scent of his was intoxicating. Then all of the sudden, his other hand gently touched my chin and pulled my face towards his. He said very softly, "Suzanne you are so beautiful." My heart sped up and I could feel my cheeks turn red. I knew was blushing, yet I noticed Alexei was too. Then he spoke again, "I have enjoyed our phone call conversations and I would like to get to know you better." I was speechless for a few moments, then I asked him a very important question, "You mean, you would like to become better friends?" Alexei smiled and softly replied, "Yes, and maybe more." Then I asked, "How? Don't we live too far a part for that to work?" I was overcome with shock and I had many doubts in my mind ,but Alexei rushed on and said, "Only, if you want to, I know it will be hard, but I want to get to know you better." I placed my hand in his and replied, "Alexei, as long as you want for us to get to know each other better, I will always be willing to be your friend." Alexei squeezed my hand , and held it for a few moments. Before he bent over towards me , and my heart raced as I thought, He is going to kiss me . His face came was inches from mine , and I sat like a statue, as his lips gently brushed my cheek. Alexei slowly pulled away and he said, "You , have made me, Alexei Yagudin very happy, to become your friend." To Be Continued *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)

I wanted to reach out my hand to touch one of his bangs, that had fallen into his blue eyes. I shyly asked, "Alexei, may I fix that lock of hair that is in your eyes?" He chuckled, and replied, "Of course, I would not mind that ." I slowly reached up to his hair with my hand. I thought his hair was feathery soft. I gently brushed a bang away from his deep sparkling blue eyes. He smiled and said, "Thank you, Suzanne ." I smiled back at him and replied, "You're welcome Alexei, what are friends for?" He just smiled at me again , and we sat on the bench a little longer enjoying the time we had together before I had to leave , to go home. I was very happy, and I would have never dreamed of having such a special friend. I just still could not believe that he wanted to be my friend, and share a unique relationship with me, that I hoped would grow, Maybe this time things would be different. I thought silently to myself , before Alexei and I walked side by side back to the restaurant. Then, I gave Alexei a ride back to the venue . He got out of the car and we shared a huge hug then I was given another kiss on my other cheek. I smiled, I had never been kissed that way before, and it was an honor to have my very first special kiss given to me by such a caring young man. I asked Alexei what we were going to do. He told me that for now we would have more fun times calling each other. He gave me his e-mail address, his home address in Russia, New York, Connecticut, and his rink address. He asked me to write him when I could, and he also told me that I was his special fan and friend. I was so touched, I felt so blessed , that for once in my life something was going to go right for a change. We decided that we would keep our friendship to ourselves and between us. I expressed to Alexei my failures that I had with my past friendships and relationships with guys. He gave me another hug and said, "Those guys did not know how lucky they were and they missed out on a great friendship. I hope we have a wonderful friendship together and be there to support each other." I whispered , "Me too, Alexei me too." He thanked me again for the stuffed dog. I was checking my e-mail messages and my heart beat quickened when I noticed a message from Alexei. I quickly opened it and Alexei had written, Hey, Suzanne I miss you , how are you? I have been thinking about you. I am in Florida on the tour with Stars on Ice. Last night’s show went very well, but I missed seeing your smile. I have my own website, here is the location. Please join with all my fans. It is called, The Alexei Yagudin Official Site. I also have an instant messenger I thought it would be nice if we could instant message each other. Do you have an instant messenger? If so please let me know. Write back soon, Take Care, Alexei . I smiled after reading his e-mail , and I was happy to hear from him again . Then, I had to work on some home work, for one of my classes, but after I was finished with that, I surfed around on the Net, until I found his official site. Then, I lurked around the site for a few hours before I joined his official website. After I was registered as a new member, I posted a little post to tell the fans there that I was new , and that I was an Alexei Yagudin fan as well. The fans that replied to my post, were so kind and I was instantly welcomed to their happy board. The moderators were also very nice and they wanted to help me with any board related concerns I had right away. I really appreciated their offer, because I knew I could go to them, with any problem I had on the board. I also had a problem , because I still did not know what Alexei meant when he said he had an instant messenger. I just felt that I could not write Alexei back , until I found out what it was, and I was too embarrassed to ask about instant messengers on the board. So, I decided that I would ask my sister that I was staying with until I finished my classes in Early Childhood Education. I normally used the computer for my education , and I did research for information on the Net, but I also stumbled on to some websites, about Alexei . Well, okay I might have typed his name into my Yahoo web browser a few times. When Lynn finally came home, I immediately asked her, Lynn, what is an instant messenger?" She asked me in reply, "Suz, you don’t know what that is?" I blushed and responded quietly, "No, do you?" She softly chuckled and said, "Yes, an instant messenger is a program that allows you to talk to people Online." I smiled and replied, "Cool, how do I get one?" Lynn smiled and replied, "I will help you, aren’t you so glad that your big sis works with computers ?" I smiled and said, "Yeah , I am ." Lynn led me over to her computer , She said, "Okay let’s just make you an account on Yahoo , that would be the easiest for you." I smiled and gave her a tiny hug , before her fingers punched the keys on the key board. She came up to a screen that asked for my screen name and password, she got up and pointed to her seat. I sat down and tried to think of my screen name. I asked Lynn, "How does SuzieQ25 sound?" Lynn said, "Sounds cute, just like you ." I laughed sarcastically like, "Ha , Ha , Ha." I quickly thought of a password and became very excited when my messenger for Yahoo appeared. I exclaimed, "Thanks! Sis!" She said, "You’re welcome Suz." Then, I started to write Alexei back ,and I let him know that I had an instant messenger. I opened my e-mail ‘s inbox and I found Alexei’s e-mail and I wrote him back and said, Hey Alexei! I was very happy to hear from you. I am good, just busy with classes. I am finishing my education at Ivy-Tech . I hope to have my associates degree completed soon in Early Childhood Education. I would like to be a preschool teacher or an assistant at least. I have been staying in Indiana with my sister , Lynn and her family until I graduate , which I hope will be next fall. Then I will go back to Florida to live with my family ,until I get a steady job and move out to my own place. I have missed you too, I have been following your tour by reading reviews written by the other fans. I also joined your official website. Yes, I have an instant messenger, do you have one for Yahoo ? If you do, my screen name is SuzieQ25. Hope we can talk, really soon. You take care, too . Bye, Suzanne . I hit the send button and I left the computer to help Mike and Lynn with dinner. After we were done with dinner ,and all of the dishes had been placed in the dishwasher, I went back to the computer, and I was surprised to find a little acceptance box. Part Six Going Home ! The following fall came quickly , and all of my hard work and dedication to my classes and field had paid off. I finally graduated and earned my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I was also proud of the fact that I returned to the place where my studies began . After I moved to Florida with my family , I had a hard time trying to figure out where I belonged . I also had many worries about how I would support myself. I made my mom and dad very happy when I finally decided to go back to school and finish my degree . When Florida could not provide me with the proper programs and classes, I returned back to Ivy-Tech . I believed with all of my heart it was the best decision that I had ever made. I was very proud of myself as I walked down that aisle, and I heard my name being announced . I smiled brightly when I was handed my diploma . After the ceremony , I hugged all of my family members. We had a big celebration at Lynn's house , even while I was surrounded by my family, friends, and loved ones , I thought about Alexei. We had kept in touch Online, since that first night we talked . Then Alexei went home to Russia to see his family , and he was so happy to go back . He had told me that in the countless e-mails I received from him, as we wrote each other back and forth , while he was there. However now it was fall , and I assumed that he was back in Connecticut and busy training with his coach Tatiana, and I hoped that we could get in touch with each other soon. Because, I really wanted to tell him that I graduated. But, I understood that, he was probably very busy, and I just enjoyed my time with my family and spent my last hours with my niece and nephew. Mostly my niece , because she always wished that I would live with them . However, my home was in Florida now and I could not wait to get back home to Petie, and the nice warm sunshine, that I had really missed while I endured the winter months that Indiana had . I was also very eager to see where life's road would take me next. A few days later, I hugged Lynn, Mike, Sydney and Bryan at the Indianapolis International Airport. Then mom, dad, and I went on towards our gate , through security , and we finally located a place to eat before our plane took us home. During the flight, I watched the clouds as they floated by the window, and again my mind wandered onto Alexei. I thought about the things, that I would tell him during our next conversation . How, I would talk about the flight, and being back in Florida. I smiled before I closed my eyes, and envisioned his face , along with his eyes that were a mixture of blue and green . I heard his voice softly speaking to me, and the gentle touch of his lips on my cheek. I smiled even more when I thought about what his lips would feel like in a real kiss . After that thought I chided myself for even thinking that way. Yet, I still knew within in my heart, that if I were completely honest with myself , I would not mind him kissing me, and not just on the cheek. That was my last thought , before I was suddenly aroused from my dream filled state when the plane touched down. While I waited to exit the plane, I looked out my window, and saw the beautiful palm trees, that were a welcoming sight for my sore eyes . Our kind neighbors, Ken and Brenda picked us up at the airport in Orlando . They congratulated me on my successful graduation , and asked me if I had any future plans. I smiled and said, "Yes, I hope to begin searching for a job. I would really love to work in a preschool near us. I had tried to work there before, but I did not get the position ." "Maybe, now that I have my degree they will give me another chance." They wished me luck and I thanked them, then I sat back in the seat and watched the scenery go by, knowing that I was really going home . To Be Continued *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)

Even though I knew that it might have seemed very strange to someone else, I still did not care, because I had always loved the unique scent of all of my parakeets, that I had owned . When I entered the kitchen, my mom gave me all of my mail . I said, "Thank you , mom." I shuffled through the endless pile, while I sat down at the kitchen table, and then I jumped up and said, "Mom ! I have to hang up my new Alexei calendar!, that Nina sent me!" She said, "Okay, but don't take too long." Then I hurried back to my room, and I quickly exchanged the calendar I had up for 2002, with the 2003 calender, of Alexei . I flipped the pages until I got to October and then I gave Alexei 's picture a kiss, before I returned to the kitchen table to get my other mail, that I decided to look at later, and I went back to my room, and left it on the day bed. When I returned to the kitchen, my mom told me that we were going to have hamburgers on the grill, and that dad was already outside cooking them. I helped my mom by getting a plate for our lettuce, onions, and tomatoes, and I helped spread the peanut butter and cream cheese on celery sticks. We also made some homemade french fries , since I was home again. We fried our's in a skillet, after we peeled the skins, and cut the potatoes up into long, semi-thin strips. and I set the table out on our lanai, and when my dad saw me he asked me to go get him four slices of cheese, after I brought him the cheese, I got ice in the glasses, poured our drinks, and made sure everything we needed was on the table. Then dad brought in grilled hamburgers, and we said a prayer of thanks to the Lord for our food, before we began to eat. While, we ate and enjoyed our meal , dad asked me, "Did you get your birthday present ?" I smiled and exclaimed, "Yes, Thank you ! I was so surprised I never would have dreamed, that you and mom would have sent me tickets to see Worlds!" "You guys might not believe me, but I got to meet him and we took a picture together!" Mom smiled and replied, "Wow! That's great, Suz!" My dad teased me when he said , "So, you met your man huh?" I rolled my dark brown eyes and said, "dad ." Mom asked, "Can we see the picture?" I shouted, "Oh yeah!, let me go get it!" I grabbed the picture of Alexei and I and I dashed back out to the lanai , and said, "Here it is, he is so handsome isn't he?" Mom and dad peered over the picture and mom said, "Oh , he put his arm around you ." I chuckled and replied, "Mom, he does that to most of the fans." Mom smiled and replied, "Pretty ones." I laughed and took the picture back before they could see the phone number on the back. After dinner, we took a nice walk around the community and after that I washed my face , and got comfortable. We watched some television together and that night I went to sleep completely content, and happy to be home, but I still missed hearing from Alexei . To Be Continued *Proud Fan Of Alexei Yagudin * ;)

I filled out numerous applications , and I was so proud that I could finally fill in the box that asked if I graduated from college. My dad and I also worked on hooking up my other present that I had gotten for my birthday and Christmas , my brand new computer. My mom and dad sent me a card last Christmas with a picture of the huge box with the words, DELL written in big , blue letters. I was so excited , and I could not wait to get back to Florida. We had a little help from a computer club expert in our community. The only bad part was transferring my files and other things from my old computer to my new computer. I even called Lynn, while she was at work and I asked her how I could get my instant messenger back . She laughed so hard , that I had to set the phone down and rub my ears. Then I picked the phone back and up and I replied, "I am new at this, and now we have our new computer!" She finally stopped laughing and she said, "I am sorry, Suz that was just so funny . Really, I was having a rough day , and your call really helped me relieve some stress. SuzieQ, all you have to do is go to your Yahoo homepage and click on the instant messenger icon. Then you type in your user name and password and you will see that your account is still there." I smiled and said, "Thanks. Lynn, I will do what you said." I hung up the phone and then I went to work on doing what my sister suggested . I clicked on the icon , and I typed in my account information and I found out that she was right. I was reading my mail , but I did not see any e-mails from Alexei . However , after I closed out of my inbox and opened my instant messenger window , I became very excited because Alexei had just come Online! I did not know what to do, I wondered if I should write a message to him, or let him write a message to me, but I still was very happy to see him Online again. A message popped up and it was him , I was so excited ! He had typed, Suzanne!! Hello ! How are you? What have you been up to ? I anxiously typed back , and had to erase what I typed and finally typed again, Alexei! I am good ! Well, I graduated from Ivy-Tech! Now I am looking for a teacher’s position, or a teacher’s assistant job. I have really missed you , so much ! You won’t believe how happy I am right now! Alexei sent back a, and then he typed back, I am very happy too! I checked to see if you were On-line when I could, but you never were and I missed you . I spent the majority of my time, filling out applications, and then going back to the child care center, or preschool to return them . Then, I waited as patiently as I could for a phone call, or a written reply back asking me for an interview. I had high hopes, when I began this process, but as time quickly passed by, I started to feel discouraged. Alexei had kept in touch by sending me an occasional e-mail , that always cheered me up when I read them even if he always asked me, how I was, and if my job search was going anywhere. In my replies back to him, I always told him that I was happy to hear from him and that I was still searching for the right job, and that I was not giving up hope. At least Christmas was approaching , and I spent my time helping my mom and dad with decorating the tree. I also had fun putting up my own Christmas tree in my room, although, while I got into the holiday spirit, I still wanted the phone to ring , and I wanted to put an end to my endless job searching . I prayed every night for the Lord to help me to continue being patient , to just give me his guidance, and that I would trust in him, and his will for my life. Then one morning in the middle of December, I finally heard the phone ring. I rushed over to the phone and said, "Hello?" A female with a friendly voice said, "Hello, may I speak to Suzanne Jones?" I excitedly replied, "Yes! This is Suzanne !" She said, "Hello, Suzanne , I am Mrs. Snow , and I am calling from Little Tikes ." I said, "Ah the preschool I just applied to, great." She just continued to explain, "I have been looking through the applicants and their references , and I was calling you to see if you could come in on Thursday , the 18th around say 2:00 in the afternoon?" I exclaimed, "That would be wonderful! Thank you so much for calling me!" My mom said, "Wow! That's great, I just prayed for you this morning." My dad asked, "What time is the interview and what school called you?" I smiled again and replied, "Little Tikes." My mom asked me, "Is that the preschool , you recently applied to ?" Part Ten An Unknown Opportunity The day of my interview came before I knew it, and I was very excited about getting the chance to meet with Mrs. Snow, but I was also very nervous. My mom decided to help me start my big day off on the right foot, by making a good breakfast. I helped her by setting the table, and watching the sausage patties as they sizzled with hot grease that popped out from the skillet. I turned them over once I noticed that they were brown on one side. My dad made the coffee , like he always did when we had breakfast together. Mom carefully flipped our pancakes over, and she had me heat up our syrup. Then my dad finished cooking the sausage for me, while I pulled the syrup's tall mug out of the microwave. Then, I brought the steaming cup of hot syrup to the table, while dad poured the coffee into our coffee cups. We all had a seat and mom had us select which size of pancake we wanted. I chose a small one, and even though my stomach was filled with giant butterflies, I still worked on spreading the peanut butter over my warm , fluffy , pancake , and added some syrup. My mom and dad both applied butter and syrup to theirs, and then we had prayer. My dad prayed that my interview would go well , then he added other concerns before we all said, "Amen". I poured my french vanilla, flavored, creamer into my coffee and then I also stirred in two packets of a brand of sugar substitute. I took a few healthy sips and hoped that would help to calm down my nerves . I had a few bites of my pan cake and sausage, before I said, "The pancake is very good, mom." She said, "Thank you , Suz." My dad quickly replied with his own comment about the pancakes. Mom said, "You did a good job on the sausage , Suz." I swallowed my mouth full of pancake and replied, "Thank you, mom." My dad asked, "Are you ready for your big day?" I laughed and said, "Boy, dad you make it sound like I already got the job, and this is my first day." Then I added, "Yes, I am ready dad. I am just wondering what I should wear, I know the charter school I had an interview for, wanted me to dress kind of dressy and casual. " My dad said, "I am sure you will find the right out fit , Suzanne." I said, "Thanks." After breakfast we all cleared the table, and then mom and I rinsed the dishes and placed them inside the dishwasher. My mom suggested to me, "Why don't you freshen up a little, maybe that will relieve your stress." I smiled at my mom and said, "All right. Thanks mom I won't be long." She said, "I know you won't." I gathered my shampoo and soap and headed for the bathroom, and twenty minutes later I came out of the bathroom feeling very refreshed. However, I was still in my sweats, because I could not figure out what to wear. When I walked back into the living room my mom was sitting in her beige, reclining, easy chair , and she asked me, "Do you feel better now?" I smiled and said, "Yes, I feel much better, but I just can't figure out what I should wear." She pushed in her chair and said, "Let's see if I can help you." I smiled and said, "Thank you ." We headed into my bedroom and I opened the folding doors to my closet. She stood beside me and we rummaged through the various out fits that were hung with care. She pulled out a pair of navy blue dress pants that I had. Then I found a sweater vest that was the same color of navy blue and I added a creamy ,light , yellowish beige blouse. She said, "There, I think that will do, it looks very sharp." I agreed and changed my clothes once she left my room and I locked the shut door. I studied myself in my mirror , as I turned in every direction . I even asked Petie, " How do I look , Petie?" He cocked his little, feathered , head and then gave me an excited chirp , as his response. I laughed and said, "I like this too, but I will ask my dad just to make sure." I unlocked the door, and walked out of my room , then I went in the den where my dad was sitting in his spot reading the morning paper. I stood in front of him and said, "Dad, I need to know what you think, how do I look?" He lowered the paper, and his brown eyes took a quick survey of my out fit. I added, "I am going to wear my navy blue low heels ." He nodded his head and said, "Looks very nice , Suz." I smiled and knew that it was finally settled , at least the issue I had with wondering what to wear. My hair was not really a problem, but I did decide to add some small clip like bronze barrettes to the sides of my wavy hair. By lunch time , I had my make up on and I was ready to roll, but I still had some time to kill before the time for my interview came. I kicked back in my favorite spot and I watched some afternoon shows, like Full House and Family Matters. Then I left the house around 1:25 PM, and I followed the directions that my dad found for me on the Net after I told him about the call. I found the building and I parked my car, then I said a little prayer and I got out of my car. I tried to put a smile on my face, and I also told myself to hold my head up high, and keep my shoulders back . I located the office, I liked the appearance of the building , children's hand prints lined the walls, and the hallways were decorated for winter and Christmas . Even though, we were in Florida , where I didn't see much snow, I still enjoyed looking at the snow flakes , and I thought they were very pretty. After I finished observing the decorated hallways, I strolled in and smiled brightly at the receptionist . She asked me, "May I help you?" I said, "Yes, I am Suzanne Jones and I have an interview with Mrs. Snow today ." She smiled and directed me to a seat as she said, "Have a seat , Suzanne she will be with you shortly ." I smiled and said, "Thank you ." I sat down and I waited while I quietly observed the office. A woman in her mid thirties with blonde hair that hung down , in curls at her shoulders came stepping out. She wore a red sweater and grey wool slacks. She smiled at me and I instantly thought, Mrs. Snow. I smiled in return and rose up from my chair , and was relieved when she said, "Hello , Suzanne." I extended my right hand out to her and we shook hands, as I said, "Hello, nice to meet you , Mrs. Snow." She said, "Nice to meet you, Suzanne would you follow me?" I nodded my head and walked behind her . She motioned for me to have a seat in the chair across from her desk. I quickly sat down , and she said, "You are my last applicant today." I smiled and said, "Okay , I hope that's a good thing." She chuckled lightly , then she quietly looked my application over again, while I politely waited, and she said, "I see you are from Indiana , and you worked in a child care called, Park Place ." I smiled and replied , "Yes, I moved to Florida a year ago last fall, and before I moved I had lived in Indiana for 23 years. I worked in a child care center for two years prior to my move, I started working there in the year of 2000." She smiled and said, "Ah yes, with two year olds right?" I said, "Yes, until that following fall and then I assisted with the one and half year olds." She said, "Good, I also see that you recently graduated ." I said, "Yes, I did , I always try to work hard and finish what I start." Mrs. Snow nodded and smiled , her eyes were a warm hazel, and they put me at ease ,so I started to relax more and more. She said, "Tell me what you did with the children under your care." I said, "Well, when I was with the two year olds, I helped with changing the diapers and making sure that they went and used the potty, I read books to them and played with them on the carpet,we built with blocks , and sometimes they would want to play with a ball,and I also played with them outside ." "Then when I moved over to the one and a half year olds, I would hold them and rock them if they arrived early and were fussy over having their mom and dad leave, then we would read books and with one little girl I asked her what colors she saw. We would play with blocks, work on some simple puzzles, have tea parties with the other teacher ." She smiled and asked, "Did you have any moments where you had to be alone?" I said, "Yes, there were times when the teachers would leave for a few minutes. I have to admit some times were pretty stressful, but I never expressed that I was frustrated in the presence of the children." Mrs. Snow said, "That is a very good thing to do, but I know it is hard not to show that you are stressed. Would you ever consider being the teacher, or do you think that would be too stressful?" I said, "Well, I feel that for now I would like to assist the teacher and observe more , to gain more experience." Mrs. Snow smiled and said, "I liked your answer, we do have an opening for a teacher's assistant at the present time. The age group is older than the children that you worked with, but I did see that you had experience in a preschool environment ." I smiled and said, "Yes, I felt that I related better to the four and five year olds , I also loved the teachers I worked with and the activities that I was involved in on a day to day basis. I would really love to work here, from what I have seen , I feel that you have a very child friendly place ." Mrs. Snow laughed and said, "Thank you, that was going to be my last question for you . I was going to ask you why you wanted to work here." I smiled and replied, "I honestly did not know that was going to be my last question." She smiled and said, "Don't worry about it, now I do have one more question ." I smiled and said, "Okay." She asked, "How do you feel about relocating?" I took a few moments before I could finally say, "Well, that depends, I would have to discuss that situation with my family, but I am sure I wouldn't mind. I really would love to have the chance to work with children again." She said, "Okay, because that is the case here, we have a sister school in Connecticut , and we are screening applicants for the Little Tikes, up there." I asked her as calmly as I could, "Where in Connecticut ?" I said, "Okay, Thank you so much again." I walked out of the preschool , with my head up in the clouds, just from thinking about being closer to Alexei. Yet, my feet were also planted firmly on the ground, because I had to figure out how to relay this to my parents. On the drive home I practiced my speech to them, "Guess what mom and dad , I have some news. I have a very good chance of getting this job . However, mom, dad the teacher's assistant position is in Connecticut . The Little Tikes in Connecticut needs an emergency replacement, mom , dad I really want this opportunity. What do you think?" By the time I pulled into our drive way , I thought I had everything that I wanted to say in order , but I just needed the courage to say them." Then I thought to myself, Maybe, I can wait until tomorrow. Whether I was ready to go in, or not I still walked into the house, where I found my mom and dad waiting for me, I helped mom get dinner started and both of them grilled me with questions. I told them how the interview went , and that I would find out if I got the job tomorrow. My dad asked, "Tomorrow? Weren't there any more applicants?" I said, "Well, yes, but not too many applied , she told me that it was an emergency." He said, "Oh, I see ." Mom asked, "What kind of emergency ?" We sat down at the table and I said, "Okay, here is the thing, the job is in Connecticut ." My dad's eyebrows shot up and dropped his fork then he sputtered , "Connecticut !" Mom said, "Oh, Suz." I said, "Mom , dad, I know you were not expecting this , believe me I was not either , but aren't you kind of getting upset over something that might not even happen?, and if I do get the job, then don't you think it is time , I found my own place ?" "Florida is great and I will come back for visits , but maybe I was meant to live in another place." Mom and dad settled down and dad finally spoke, "All right, you have a point , but that is so far away ." I said, " I know, it will be a change for me too, but I want to see if I can make it on my own ." Mom quietly nodded her head and said, "Suz, have you thought about where you will live ?" I said, "I probably will find an apartment in Connecticut or even in Simsbury." Dad asked, "What about getting there? Are you going to drive, fly?" I said, "I will probably have to sell my car , dad to help pay for an apartment." He said, "All right, well let's all just sleep on this tonight, like Suz said, she might not even get the job." Mom said, "Larry, she wants the job , just look into her eyes right now." Then, we all hugged and told each other good night not knowing where tomorrow might lead . Part Five Instant Connection
I smiled and typed back, Hello Alexei! I am good ! How are you? A few minutes passed before he replied, I am good, and I am happy that you are good too.
Yes, I do miss my mom and dad and my parakeet Petie. I wanted to study in Florida, but most of the universities were not offering the classes I needed. So, I decided to return to Indiana and Ivy-Tech. I have family here , it is not so bad. Alexei sent me a 
I smiled and then I typed back, Good night Alexei , parting is such , sweet, sweet, sorrow. He just sent a smile and a wink before he went Offline. I went to sleep that night with a huge smile on my face , and I did have many dreams that were sweet.
