This is a picture of Petie while he was on the lanai , a screened in back porch .We added glass to ours, and he loves to spend time out there when the weather is warm enough for him.  You all can see him better in this picture that I took of him on that same day. He also loved that mirror it was one of his favorite toys back then.

     Here is the last picture I took of Petie in 2006  , and in this picture  he was on top of his toy house, and he stayed there for the picture. I have some more recent pictures of him and he did not mind the camera at all , so he was close and very easy to see.

       Here is a much better picture of Petie from 2009.  He was starting to like having his picture taken, even though he still hid his eyes from the camera lol . Maybe a reaction to the flash, but his color started to get a little darker as well.

    Here is the last picture I took of Petie in 2009.  This was on Christmas Day and this was one of his best, and he allowed one eye to peek out.  After this picture , I gave him a break from having to have his picture taken until 2011, but he may have also gotten in the picture of my birthday cake from 12-22-10, I have to have a closer look and I will share that with my birthday pictures.

      On my 34th birthday Petie gave me a wonderful present, he posed for this picture , and I loved him for it.

    I have some new pictures of Petie that I took in May of 2011.  He was a little jealous of me taking so many pictures of the eagles.  So, I promised him his own photoshoot .   We bought a new cage for him too, and  I wanted to take some pictures of him in the new cage.  He was even more playful after he got into his new cage.  He had more room, and he was climbing  like he used to do when we first brought him home .  He was so much fun to watch, and he made me laugh so much more .

         I was trying very hard to get him to show both of his eyes, in this one he gave me his right eye.
After I begged him to show me both of his eyes for his second picture, he gave me his right eye again.

       Then, for his third picture Petie showed the camera his left eye lol.

                   He gave me a little attitude in the next picture that is coming right up.

After I asked him again for his fourth picture, he turned his head away from the camera . 

Then, in the last picture I took of him, he finally looked at the camera, well almost and it was good enough for me.

That picture is coming right up.

Yet, I did not give up and his fifth picture was close enough to it for me .

   Hello again !   I discovered some more pictures of Petie while I was downloading some more pictures to the
computer.   I think these were taken between late spring maybe even in the summer of 2011 .  I was taking some pictures of my new fish and Petie acted like he wanted his pictures taken too .  So, I hope you all enjoy seeing these pictures, I also hoped to take some of Petie in his new cage and get some action shots of him while he played with his toys.

 

Petie's sixth picture started out with him looking away again .

His seventh picture is up next.

   Then in his seventh , he looked like I had woken him up , but he was not sleeping.
He just wanted to give me attitude, I think he even closed his eyes! lol.

Petie's eighth picture is coming right up. 

        

Then I wanted to try an action shot , so I took this while he was grooming.
I know he looked like he ate an entire bag of birdseed, but he didn't, he was just
in the middle of preening his feathers .

          He looked normal in his ninth picture that is coming right up.  

He looked normal again in his ninth picture, before he started kissing his toy bird.

         A couple more pictures to go for tonight .      

 

Then in his tenth picture , Petie started bending his head down to rub it on the bottom
part of his pink toy.

         Only one more picture to go! 

 

While I was taking his eleventh and final picture he was rubbing his head .




I hoped to capture him at his finest moments and I wanted to share them on here when I did, but his last pictures were taken on Christmas Day 2013.
I will share those tomorrow.

In Petie's third finest moment, he wanted to show everyone how pretty his back side was.

I did not mind, he needed a break from the camera, so he took one.

    I took two pictures of Petie's final resting place, he passed away after a long brave fight on the afternoon of 8-4-14.It was really hard to see him suffer so much, I am not really sure what happened, but I did try my best the weekend before to get him a visit with a vet that specializes in bird care.  Before he died I took him out on the lanai and allowed him to have one more time out there. The day of his passing, I had a phone call and the vet I had before, no longer cared for birds.  I made numerous phone calls to other vets, and I
finally reached one that did treat birds, but the vet was off that week. 

So, I just did my best to make his passing as stress free as possible.   Polly alerted me that something was happening, he was really struggling, so when he had calmed down, and he was laying on his back, my eyes are watering as I type this, I am adding this part to the post.  So, he finally calmed down, I held onto his little foot and I softly sang a Hymn, that I knew by heart to him, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus."  He listened, and not long after that God took him home. I am a strong believer that animals go to heaven. Because, after my other Petie died, on that day I looked up into the sky and I saw a parakeet's face in the clouds. I honestly believed that was God's way of saying , "I will take care of Petie now."   After my little Petie passed away, on August 4th, 2014 I prepared a tissue box for him , laid him lovingly inside his Cozy Buddy, it looked like a big blue triangle ,I also gave him a good bye kiss on his little head, before we placed him inside. 

 I also laid his favorite pink house with bird head in it with him, and another one of his favorite toys probably the mirror .   Then, my mom and I found a big flower pot, and placed it near the lanai .  A little while later we found a beautiful flower and we left his rings on top.  I also found a pinwheel that had his colors, and we bought a butterfly wind chime with his colors.  The flowers matched the color of his nose, and they are still in bloom. After I hung up the wind chime , I added a red heart, because Petie would live  on in my heart, even though I have two more feathered friends to share about, and they have brought me a lot of happiness and laughter.  I still missed Petie, but I was so glad that I took pictures of him and had them to share and to look at on here.
Here is the first picture of Petie's resting place. It was a cloudy day so the plastic covering is kind of hiding the writing.  I think it said , "Rest In Peace , Petie."
