Hello!  Here is my 2014 Stars On Ice Review that I originally posted on 10-29-14, I worked on this one a lot, so it took longer.  I hope you all enjoy reading about each step I took to get back to Orlando and the Amway Arena.

Hello !  I am sorry that this review took so long , but as the expression goes, "Better late than never." I hope you all enjoy reading my review and watching some of the videos that I also included in it.

On Top Of The World In Orlando!

Part One :Before My Journey Back To Orlando Began

Before my journey back to Orlando began, I told my mom that Stars on Ice was coming back to Orlando this year, and we talked about buying our tickets. This year we had the option to buy our tickets at the ticketmaster website . I was directed there when I went to the website for Stars on Ice , and I also had to go through a registration process before I was shown a map of the seating at the Amway Center . I thought that was pretty cool, I noticed the seats that were already taken, and we continued looking until she liked a row of seats in section 109.

After she told me to check out the seats there, I spent a few minutes searching until she told me to choose two seats in row 10. I will admit since this way was new to me, it took me several minutes to figure out what to click in order to buy the tickets. Once I did though, we were the proud ticket holders for seats 13 and 14 . I was also asked if I would like to add parking, and that took me several more minutes, and our seats were up for grabs again, which I was reminded of every second that I took to add the parking. There was a lot of mouse clicking involved. After the entire process was finished we had seats, I was going to see Stars on Ice on April 6th, and most importantly we had seats!

The next step and final step was to print out the tickets, it also gave us the option to have them mailed, but we opted to just print out the tickets, so I was led to a screen and I hit print, and I printed all of the other important documents with one month to go until the show and I placed everything in a safe place that I would remember to check when the time for our show in Orlando came around.

Part Two : During My Journey Back To Orlando

On April 6th, we both packed for overnight stay in Orlando, and I made sure that we had our tickets before we finally loaded the car, and hit the road. Even though we had a late start I was relieved when we arrived at the Florida Turnpike around 4:20 PM . After we paid our $1.25 for the toll, we made a very wise decision to skip finding our hotel and just making the Amway Center our destination . When we reached the tolls, I had to concentrate on handing my mom the correct amount of money, which involved more quarters and dollar bills, because the toll charges had been raised. Some of the toll roads charge up to a $1.50 now for a single car, during our last trip the highest charge had been a dollar. Anyway we did pretty well going to the Amway Center except when an exit suddenly caught us by surprise.

Mom thought she had to pay the toll , but she really didn’t need to, and that we needed to stay in our lane . However, the lane ended, she went off the exit and we paid 50 cents, after she tossed one quarter and it went in , but the other quarter fell to the ground. She did her best throw and tossed in another quarter. Those baskets some of the toll roads use are hard to toss money into.
Oh well we laughed about it later , and we got ourselves back on track after we found a safe way to turn around. Our g.p.s. had another idea that would have made us turn around on to on coming traffic on a one way road. We made a better choice, by using the parking lot of a LOWES to make our turn.

After a new route was planned out for us we made it back to the road we exited, paid another toll I believe before we made it to Church St, where of course there was a detour . I think it was for the event , so it took us right to the Amway Center , and I calmed down, because I will admit the detour freaked me out since it was already 5 PM. Once we saw the Amway Center , I immediately began searching for our parking garage. We drove around for a little bit in circles, until I excitedly told my mom that I had found our designated parking garage. We waited outside of the entrance for our turn to pull in into the line for the parking attendant to assist us. This was where we discovered that we had a little problem. She kindly explained to us that there was supposed to be a separate ticket for the parking garage to print out and bring with us. So, we thanked her and we went on ahead and paid $20.00 for the parking. She also suggested that we let ticketmaster know what happened.

She also let us know that we were not the only ones to have the same problem, because it also happened to several other people, as she gave us our tag to display on our windshield. We thanked her again, and proceeded on into the parking area. Where another very nice lady directed us into a space on the ground level, after she asked us, "What can I do for you loves?"
My mom’s answer was , "We need to know where to park." So, she said, "I am going to have you park right in here, just follow me." We followed her and once we were parked, we gathered our stuff that we needed, before I got out to stretch my legs. After my mom was ready to go, our nice attendant let us know about the elevator that would take us to the 5th level and the Amway Center Sky Bridge.

Part Three : On The Way Over To The Amway Center

We thanked her, and walked over to the elevators, before I pushed the down button . A few minutes later the elevator doors opened and we got on the elevator. Another group of people joined us, and a nice lady that was in front pushed the button for us. While we were all on our way up , I talked to the ladies that were riding with us. I told them how I was excited to have Stars On Ice return to Orlando , and that I had been coming to Orlando to see Stars On Ice since 2003. They seemed really impressed and they could tell I really enjoyed the show . After I finished talking with them , the elevator stopped because of more people coming in. Well I thought we had reached our floor , so I almost walked out the doors. Until, everyone else stopped me and told me that it was not our floor. I felt really silly, but I just laughed it off. The lady I had spoken to before joked about how I could have taken the stairs if I wanted to. I giggled and said, "No. I ‘ll stay here." Anyway once the elevator did stop, we all got off and moved onto the Sky Bridge . I thought the Sky Bridge was really cool, but before we were allowed to cross , mom and I had our purses checked, and our other items scanned by security, as we walked through the metal detector . Security cleared us , and we were free to go follow behind the very large crowd to the other side. When we reached the other end, there were some friendly folks who checked our tickets. One of them was a young woman and she told us to , "Enjoy the show!" I thanked her, and smiled before we walked over the threshold that led us to the inside of the Amway Center!

Part Four: Finding Our Seats

As we walked into the main floor, I noticed the escalators that we rode up on during our visit in 2011. I also saw a lot of people not taking the escalator , because all we had to do was find our sections and our seats. That was really nice , I liked the Sky Bridge , it was also really neat to look around as we walked across it, all of the windows gave a great view of Downtown Orlando .

I also looked around for places where we could grab a bite to eat, which would be around the break in the show, because it was already going on 5:30 PM, and there were some long lines already waiting. So, we both agreed on that plan, and there were a good number of places selling snacks and other food, but I did stop in the line to buy a program and an autographed picture of Meryl Davis and Charlie White. Once we made it closer to our area, I did have to have some assistance, due to some confusing signs that said 109 A, and an arrow pointing to 109 B. A kind gentleman told me where to go to find 109, he told me we were too high up , we needed to go down . After I followed his directions, we made it to 109. While we entered the stairwell, and started walking down the stairs carefully I felt the cool air coming from the ice. It was a little chilly, but for me that tingling frosty sensation I feel near the ice never gets old.

Anyway, after we located our seats, I sat down and looked at my watch. It was getting really close to show time, and there were a lot of people at the Amway Center that night. I was really happy that there was such a great turn out . Mom also liked our seats, we had a really good view of everything around us. If there were some empty seats, they were quickly filled with an even larger crowd of people just arriving in every single section, just minutes before the lights went out. As more of the people arrived , there was an announcement about a gift card from Macy’s , that went to a very lucky individual or individuals that were sitting in section 104. We were also reminded about not being allowed to take flash photos or throw objects on the ice. A minute later after the announcements , the lights went out and everyone started to cheer.

On Top Of The World In Orlando Continued

Part Five: On Top Of The World Act One

Before the first act began , some spotlights revealed a figure on the ice. No one knew who the figure was until we were all very surprised when the spotlight unveiled his identity. The lone figure on the ice was Mr. Scott Hamilton himself! He was with us in person, not on the black monitor ! My reaction was "WOW!" He spent a few minutes soaking in our applause , which was endless , everyone in the arena seemed to have an immense amount of respect for him. I know I did. He told us that he betted that we were not expecting to see him.  People just cheered even louder, it was very clear that Orlando still loved Mr. Scott Hamilton and that they had an immense amount of respect for him. He had our undivided attention as he joked about being on a 12 step program to quit skating, which made us all laugh, before he said, "But I might make a comeback to the ice with a crowd like this." Well after we heard that we cheered and applauded even louder. Once we did start to settle down, he asked us if we saw or watched the Olympics. Everyone in the arena screamed, and he headed over to another side before he said to a person, "I remember seeing you , you watched the ladies event . We just laughed, but he told us that he saw all of us, as he pointed out the TV cameras and asked, "Do you see these?" After we saw the cameras that suddenly appeared , he said, "These are called TV cameras and you all are going to be on TV, folks at home are going to watch this as it happens here in Orlando."

He told us that we all were going to become stars, he mentioned a specific number that I can not recall, maybe over a thousand . He also explained why the shows were going to start in the spring, the reason was so that the skaters would be at their best, and he mentioned a new partnership that would allow more eligible skaters to perform in the show. I was thrilled that the city of Orlando finally had this opportunity , it truly was a special experience. After Scott told us who would be performing , the crowd showed their love to Charlie White and Meryl Davis our first time ever Olympic champions for ice dancing . They helped us get warmed up , after they asked us "How we were doing." Well, it is kind of hard to answer the question with the same response and at our loudest, so we had to do a little do over on that part. However, it did not take any of us too many more times to get the energy level in the building raised up. Especially after they promised us they would try to provide us with thrills, and exciting entertainment. Once Scott, Charlie, and Meryl left the ice, all of the lights went down again and the show got under way.

The beginning of the show started with four very mysterious figures with lit candles skating in a tight circle like formation. Their blades were lit as well and I thought their lit up skate blades were cool. I think we were all very surprised when they broke up their circle and revealed two skaters, our Olympic Champions , Gold Medalists , Two -Time World Champions, and the Six-Time U.S. Dance Champions, Meryl Davis and Charlie White. The dynamic ice dance pair were joined by the rest of the cast that was in no particular order that I can recall. Ashley Wagner, Gracie Gold, Jeremy Abbott, Mirai Nagasu , Alissa Czisny, Ryan Bradley, Kimberly Navarro with her partner , Brent Bommenre along with Josh Farris.

The cast wore silver and white , as they all held white flags . The opening performance was so beautiful, and as always I tried my best to watch everyone. However, it was nearly impossible to do that. I was in awe as the men and ladies like Charlie and Meryl , Kimberly , and Brent did some breathtaking lifts, while the other men had some impressive jumps. The other ladies floated and glided across the ice with the flags flowing behind them. Each cast member did their best to give us their all and all of Orlando was not disappointed during "When You Are Not Saving the World", by: Hanz Zimmer. Towards the end of the casts first performance, each member was introduced and met with our love and appreciation. After they all left the ice, the screens on the black monitors lit up with the name of our guest performer.

That guest performer was none other than America’s Silver Medalist in this year’s Nationals and the Olympic Bronze Medalist from the first time Team Skating event and the biggest crowd pleaser for today’s generation, Jason Brown. I was excited to see his skating in person. He really impressed me at Nationals and the Olympics. Not only by his skating, but I was also impressed by his actions and his attitude . He seemed to be a really positive young man. He skated out with a big smile on his face, as we all gave him a warm welcome to the tour and to Orlando. I also recognized his costume , and instantly knew what music he was going to skate to for his performance. He had on a green shirt with some gems , along with some gold design for trim on the shirt and along the sides going down his pants. It was subtle and not too flashy. The music was to a very lively Irish folk song, at least that was my guess. He had a very dramatic beginning, and he built up his performance as the tempo grew within the music. The audience really got into it clapping along. I also was tapping my foot along with the rhythm and fast beat. Jason landed all of his jumps, and he was also very flexible.

His feet were very fast during his step sequences . He had incredible spins, and everyone enjoyed his river dance on the ice. At the end, as he took his bows, I gave him a standing ovation . I also heard a group of young girls yell, "WE LOVE YOU, JASON!" While he skated off towards the black tunnel, I believe he also waved to some sections while he was taking his bows. I always love hearing fans show their love, it never gets old, and I know Orlando also loved Jason.

The next performer who took the ice, was the U .S. Champion and another pretty big favorite with the skating fans, Ryan Bradley . He was wearing a blue plaid shirt with black pants , and the music was very up beat. The song was called, "Wake Me Up", :by Avicii. Ryan really looked like he was enjoying himself , and he got all of us involved in clapping in time with the music with him. He landed all of his jumps and the famous move with our crowd was his back flip . I thought that he was very impressive , and I stood up for him at the end during his bows.

I found a video of him skating to this song from the tour, it was shot during a show in Long Island and uploaded to You Tube by: Nicole Stork . I will try to include all of the video URLs at the end of my post since they automatically play if they are from You Tube, which I really don't like, but oh well I can only do my best. After Ryan Bradley took his much deserved bows, the Two- Time U.S. Champion, Alissa Czisny skated out wearing a striking blue dress, that had a little sparkle that the spotlights made shine. I thought that she had beautiful spins and she flowed along with the soft and soothing music . She had a lovely performance to "Consolation # 2 ," by: Franz Liszt . I stood up for her at the end and clapped for her as well.  After Alissa’s soothing performance, the next one got the party started, with another pair of ice dancers that were the Two-Time U.S. Bronze Medalists, Kimberly Navarro and Brent Bommentre. They came out with lots of energy . Brent wore a black short sleeved shirt, with black pants maybe even jeans. Kim wore a black top and skirt that matched Brent’s with some kind of sparkling shapes. I loved the cartwheel she did while he held her , and they had amazing lifts high in the air. They closed with a dare devilish feat known only as the "head banger." Which made the crowd go crazy, my mom even exclaimed , "Oh my gosh!" I was just in awe because she had her head so close to the ice, as he spun her around and around while only holding on to her feet. They had perfect precision . All I could say was, "WOW!" I loved their performance to the catchy tune, "How Do You Like Me Now", by: Tony Lucca . When they were doing their bows and waves to the crowd and they faced my side, I stood up for them. They looked very happy which in turn made me very happy.

After Kim and Brent went back into the black skating tunnel, Miss. Gracie Gold was all set to jazz things up. She looked like a dancer from Chicago in an all black costume with a dazzling gemstone finish . The crowd enthusiastically cheered for her, as she started out skating slowly and smoothly just like a saxophone always starts out nice and slow. As the performance went on, everyone in the crowd got into it. Grace had awesome jumps, a lot of fun, and an amazing split jump that was followed by fast sit spins . She was a crowd pleaser as well and a joy to watch , and I stood up for her at the end of "All That Jazz", from the : Chicago Original Soundtrack.

Part Six: I-N-T-E-R-M-I-S-S-I-O-N

Once the lights were turned back on, my mom and I were ready to go get some food. But, I was also trying to find a place for my hat, After trying some out some possible places, I finally just stuffed my hat into the cup holder at my seat. After we made it back up the stairs, we quickly searched for a place to grab some supper. It took us several minutes for us to find a grill type place. While we waited in line for a while longer, we studied the menu and decided to share a cheeseburger meal. So we ordered one with all of the fixings on it, with some french fries and a drink. As we waited on our order, the two very nice ladies working there asked me how I liked the show . I told one of them that the show was amazing, and she shared about the time she saw Nancy Kerrigan skating in the show. She even went to Nationals when it was held in her area to watch Nancy skate. I listened to her story that she was also telling her co-worker for as long as I could, but we had to leave to fix up our cheeseburger and fries. I still hated to leave though, because it sounded really interesting. Even though I really wanted to stay and listen, we had another reason why we needed to go. The show was starting again! So, my mom and I quickly grabbed napkins and straws before we carefully walked back down the stairs. On the way down, it was really dark , but we found our row and we sat down.

Part Seven: On Top Of The World Act 2

I felt really bad when I realized we had missed the ladies in "The Creep," by: Scala & Kolancy Brothers . I did hear the applause so Alissa Czisny , Meryl Davis, Gracie Gold , Mirai Nagasu , and Ashley Wagner must have struck the right chord with them. Since I felt terrible for missing the first act in the second part of the show, I made sure the skaters did not see me eating in front of them. I ate the food fairly fast, because the food was also delicious. During the beginning of the next performance, my mom and I kind of noticed that something was missing. Before we had left our seats, we were sitting behind a camera that moved up and down.

She did not see it anymore, but I still did not think we were in the wrong section, because I sort of recognized the people sitting a few rows ahead of us. So, I stopped thinking about it especially when we were both trying to figure out who was on the ice. One thing was obvious to us, the person was a guy, but I just was not too sure which guy. His identity was kept a secret from us , anyway he was wearing a gold outfit with black baggy pants. He looked like a rap star with a hat on . I kept on asking my mom, "Who is that?" I also knew another thing, it did not matter who the mystery skater was, because he could really dance. He also had very strong jumps, and the mystery was solved after he tossed off his hat. After the hat was gone, I saw the famous ponytail, and once I saw the pony tail, I exclaimed softly, "It’s Jason!" My mom sounded like she said the same thing and we laughed about that, before we enjoyed every single minute of his skating. He even had the famous dance in baggy pants nailed down. I thought that no one could touch Jason when he performed to "U Can’t Touch This", by: MC Hammer.

After Jason had everyone in the crowd pumped up, we showed him our appreciation. Everyone clapped and cheered for him while I stood up for him at the end, as he smiled, bowed, and waved. Once he left the ice, Kim and Brent returned to the ice for a very moving and touching performance . The two looked very dashing with Brent in a black suit and Kim in a pretty red dress. They had some very creative and innovative lifts, Kim looked very graceful , as he held her high in the air. The two of them moved as one , and during some of the lifts she was not holding on to him, or anything which really impressed me. At the end of "Another Story", by: The Head and the Heart , I was up on my feet and clapping because I thought they skated a very breathtaking performance.

After Kim and Brent’s stunning performance, Miss. Alissa Czisny returned to the ice for her next solo performance. She had on a dark blue dress and the ice was the same shade, and a color that I absolutely thought was beautiful. Anyway she was very graceful, and she had wonderful facial expressions as her movements told us a story. She had clean landings after her explosive jumps as far as I could tell. She also impressed me with the speed she had during her sit spins. The audience roared with their appreciation , after her version of "My Kind of Love", by: Erneli Sande . I stood up for her as well, while she graciously thanked us for our love and support.

Once Alissa had taken her bows, and waved to all of us, the energy level instantly rose when Ryan Bradley skated out ready to rock. He looked like a rock and roll star with a black bandana on his head, with a red sleeveless vest, a t-shirt with a tough guy image on the front, a spike covered belt, with tight black pants. He showed off his guns (otherwise known as his muscles. He loved hearing the crowd cheer, he also got all of us involved by having us clap along . He had amazing jumps and spins . I heard the ladies scream a lot during his performance. The monitors even got into the act by flashing colors really fast towards the end. While the ice also had bold color changes that also kept me entertained. Once again Ryan’s famous move with the crowd in Orlando was his back flip. The minute the music died down and he was facing my side, you guessed it I jumped up to my feet and clapped enthusiastically while I yelled, "Whooooooo!" Most of the time I yelled that, it was just easier to go along with the people around me. My mom also enjoyed Ryan’s "Rock Medley", by: Poison/Guns N Roses/Twisted Sister. After Ryan left the ice, the people in the crowd started to settle down again for the next performance. After Ryan left the ice, the crowd started to settle down again for the next performance.

At the beginning of the music, I noticed how the blue tint on the ice changed over to a light purple, before it became pink and red with one spotlight. Alissa skated out first and she was wearing an elegant white dress. I also liked how her hair was styled in a braid, and after she glided around on the ice for a little while, Jeremy skated out and he became her partner that was dressed in all black making a very striking contrast with all of the other colors I mentioned before. When Alissa was by herself she had light and airy movements with the first chord of piano music, and when Jeremy joined her the music sped up and so did Jeremy . The two of them were in step with each other during turns and the strokes made by their skates. I know the crowd in Orlando enjoyed clapping along , and we cheered the loudest at the end when there was a little Latin flair thrown in with the piano music. I really enjoyed their performance to "Piano Guys," by: Van Cliburn/ Dave Brubek. I stood up for them and cheered during their bows as well.

Once Jeremy and Alissa had left the ice, the audience gave their attention to Miss. Mirai Nagasu , as she returned to the ice for her second solo performance. She had on a simple, black, sleeveless shirt and maroon pants. She looked very comfortable and she was allowing us to see her true self. I also liked how she had her hair styled half up and half down it was very pretty that way. I noticed that the ice had the same color of maroon , or dark pink while I watched her float over the ice. She had very slow and soft movements with her arms and her skate blades. As far as I could tell she landed her jumps effortlessly . I thought that she was flexible while she did her fast spins, and that she bared her soul as she faced her fears. One moment that I remember the most was when she did a very impressive spread eagle , and of course her spin that every one loved. The spin began with her laying her head back all the way, and she pulled her other leg up way over her head. I said in awe, "Wow." She always has beautiful spins, and I was proud of her during her performance to "Demons," by: Sam Tsui. At the end of the music, I sat on the edge of my seat and I waited until she was bowing to my side before I leapt out of my seat and stood up for her, as I clapped with my hands above my head .

After Mirai took her bows, left the ice, and I was seated, Josh Farris came skating out for his second solo performance. I noticed that the ice started out blue, with red side lights, and it was a nice color combination with his red dress shirt and black pants. Once he started to move on the ice I turned my attention to his skating. All of his movements and expressions gave us the details in the story behind the song was telling. The music was softer and it was very thoughtful , while Josh used a lot of slow spins, but he also landed an explosive jump after he had a sudden burst of speed. I also thought that he had a pretty impressive Russian split jump, and that he executed every single moment of his performance in a very professional manner. At the end of the song, I stood up for him and showed him my support for his own unique interpretation of "To Build a Home," by: The Cinematic Orchestra.

On Top Of The World In Orlando Continued

After Josh was gone , Miss. Ashley Wagner returned to the ice for her second time. I thought that she looked beautiful with her hair styled half up and half down. She also wore a stunning darker blue dress that was made with a shimmering material. I also noticed that the ice was the same color as her dress, with some green side lights. The music was slower, but it was also very powerful with a message about love. I was happy for Ashley when she landed her jumps with ease, and I felt that she had really grown in her ability to relate with the music. She really made an effort to use her arms and body to show us what the song was all about. Every movement she made was pure perfection, and at the end of "Young and Beautiful", by: Lana del Rey, I was surrounded by the sound of very loud screams, while Ashley had a big smile on her face. She continued to smile while she waved to each side with both of her hands, and she also bowed to us with grace, before she made one more sweeping motion with her hand, and skated off towards the black tunnel.

After she had left, another male figure skated to the center of the rink for his performance. The male figure on the ice was Jeremy Abbott, and the crowd gave him an enthusiastic welcome back to the ice. I saw his name the monitors against a blue background, made with stars that had fancy designs during the start of his performance . Jeremy kept his costume simple, he wore a white shirt with his sleeves rolled up, gray jeans, and fingerless gloves. He made his first move by holding up his arms, while he was leaning to the left. During most of the time his hands were locked together, while he made slow turns on the ice. The song in the background talked about someone having his heart ripped out. Jeremy showed us what that felt like when he made a heart pumping gesture as he pulled his hands out, as if it was his heart that had been removed from him. I was happy for him, when he landed his jumps, and the audience appreciated Jeremy’s understanding of the connection and the meaning behind the music that was playing. His movements always had a purpose that really justified the song. The ladies around me also seemed to really enjoy his hip action. He also always knew how to involve the crowd. So, he was a huge hit with Orlando , and I was up on my feet as well at the end of "Latch", by: Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith). Jeremy smiled at all of us, as he bowed and waved to us before he departed for the black tunnel.

A few minutes later, the spotlights were turned on again reveal our new performer on the ice. The new performer was Miss. Gracie Gold, and once her music began to play all of the people at the show instantly knew what song she was going to skate to. The music was from a very popular soundtrack that had won awards, from a movie that I bet every little girl and even my sister and her family went to see, did you guess Frozen? Ding!, ding!, ding! You are a winner! Now is the song playing in your mind right now? If you couldn’t guess which song, I will give you some hints. The familiar tune is legendary with little girls around the world, and Gracie looked just like the character from the highly award winning movie. Gracie looked like just like Elsa with the same color of dress . She also moved across the ice like a princess, and used royal sweeping gestures with her arms one minute, before she dazzled us all with spins that were both breathtaking and furiously fast. The ice also looked like a winter wonderland that had snowflakes swirling and dancing across a dark blue surface that was tinted with light blue side lights. The monitors also had the same wintery scene and added a very nice touch. During the entire performance I sang along with the song , and everyone else loved "Frozen", by: Idina Menzel . Now I bet you all know what song Gracie Gold performed to, and yes that song was called, "Let It Go." After her performance, she graciously bowed and waved to all of us, while I was on my feet cheering for her, before she made her way back to the black tunnel.

After that ,the lights were instantly dimmed again as two figures came skating out.  When the spotlights came back their bright beams revealed who the two figures were. Once we saw that the pairs were Meryl Davis and Charlie White, the crowd erupted and the arena was filled with loud cheers and applause. I also loudly cheered for them, and their return to the icy stage for their final act. I also noticed Meryl’s teal costume and Charlie ‘s royal purple and classic black costume, the music also was very familiar for me. This was a very special performance to all of us, because we all watched Meryl Davis and Charlie White skate their way to gold and achieve their life long dream at the Olympics . It was a real treat to see the two skate this performance again at Orlando. As Meryl glided towards Charlie, I watched the ice while it mirrored their colors by going from dark blue, to purple, and teal when the side lights were added in . Meryl met Charlie and the two danced together on the ice with precise twirls and spins. The two were very flexible , and I was in awe at how high Meryl could stretch her leg up, it was amazing. The two of them had perfect timing with the music, and I also loved the moment when Charlie held Meryl as he spun around with speed that was faster than lightning. I was also impressed because she was not holding to him or anything. The two of them were phenomenal during this performance and their gold medal winning skate to "Scheherazade," by:Nikolai Rimsky - Korsavov . I got up on my feet at the end, as they bowed and waved like royalty , before they made their way off the ice, and the music to the finale began to play.

Once Meryl and Charlie had left the ice, the final performance of the showstopping night began with an appearance by Ashely Wagner , and she was wearing a costume that was like the other ladies . For this final number, the dresses were black and silver skating dresses that were also very shiny. Ashley was soon joined by Ryan Bradley who like all of the men was wearing a black short sleeved shirt and black pants. During the beginning everyone that was out on the ice were in pairs . Each pair had amazing lifts , followed by some amazing spins and turns that were in perfect unison . We all clapped along with the music, and the entire cast looked like they were having a lot of fun.

The cast also split sides at some points and wove from one side to the other before they all jumped into the air together and landed those jumps together at the same time. They all had great choreography , and I was amazed how they did not get disoriented while the colored lights and the designs were constantly changing on them with patterns that would make anyone’s head spin when looking at the ice. That did not phase them one bit , and I was glad they did not see the multi colored static and lines on the monitor that did make my head spin a little bit. At the end of the finale which was skated to, "Don’t Stop Believin,"by:Rock Of Ages. the entire cast lined up, linked arms, crossed their legs, and bowed their heads .

While everyone in the venue stood up and clapped, some of them gave us their final wave. The lights were turned on, it looked like it was time to leave, and my mom said, "We are in the wrong section." I saw the camera that used to be in front of our original seats and said, "Yeah, I thought something was missing. We just laughed about it, and were happy that no one came along to tell us that we were sitting in their seats. That would have been embarrassing, so we were just about ready to go over to our section, when Charlie and Meryl came skating out again looking relaxed in their clothes .

On Top Of The World In Orlando Continued

Part Eight : The Show Was Not Over Yet

Charlie explained that things always did not go as planned during a live taping, so he asked us to remain seated and that we would all yell and cheer for the skaters who had encores. Meryl made me chuckle when she shouted, "Yay ! More skating!" As the lights went down everyone started to cheer and shout when we saw Jason Brown. I really did not see any mistakes during his first act, but the cameras picked something up and they do not lie. So, we just gave him all of the positive energy that we could while he fixed a small part of the beginning. The second time worked like a charm and he skated it perfectly. Jason rewarded us , by blowing my side a kiss. All of the fans there enjoyed seeing his skating again, and I even stood up for him at the end.

I did not even worry about losing my voice, instead I just dug down deep and pulled out everything I had to use to yell and cheer for Gracie Gold, she had to listen for her cue, because her encore had to begin in the middle of her second act , she looked enchanting as Elsa and wove her magic out on the ice in order to showcase her best performance . I am not sure if Ashely had to do a do over, or not but I do recall that Mirai Nagasu came out again for her act that was in the second part of the show. I also remember how with each skater, the level of our volume rose up and went higher . I even shouted, "You can do it, Mirai!" Because, she looked like she needed some friendly words of encouragement after she was announced. During her encore performance, she soared above the challenge and she not only faced her demons, she defeated them . When Mirai’s encore was finished, Charlie and Meryl came out and talked with her, I think Charlie said something like, "See, that was not so bad ." She smiled and told him that it was easy because we were a great audience. Charlie thanked us for our support and our patience . The whole venue cheered again when she said that we were the best audience on the tour so far.

Part Nine :After The Show

Every member of the cast fulfilled their promise to us, we had outstanding entertainment, with daring thrills, and spine tingling chills. I was so happy for returning to Orlando after the show, to see Stars On Ice again. When the lights were turned back on again, my mom and I returned to our row to get some personal belongings . Where some nice people from our row let us in , and I explained to them how we ended up going to the wrong section. We all just laughed about it though, before I found a order form for next year on the floor under a seat. After I picked it up, I asked them if they would like to have it. They told me that they did not want it , so I put it back down , before I suddenly realized that I wanted it. I told my mom that I had to go back and get the form, and I returned to the seat it was under and grabbed it. That was the only thing on my mind, being sure I got a ticket order form for next year’s show, hoping that with the new schedule they would all return to Orlando in 2015. Before we left, we let some people walk up the stairs ahead of us, and we walked up the stairs. As we were walking away from our section, and had reached the next level of stairs to climb, I started to think that something was missing. I just felt like I had forgotten something , and I looked back towards where we were sitting. Remember my hat that I stuffed in the cup holder? Well, I didn’t. Until it was too late, because it was gone, and I just had to let it go. I had to keep walking up to the main corridor and across the Sky Bridge, to the elevator, in the parking garage and our car.

Once we made it back to our car and put away some belongings , I pushed the On Star button , and gave a nice lady on the other end our location along with the name of our hotel. She sent us directions, and this time we felt more confident in knowing how to get there. Our tom tom for some reason never got along with parking garages, I guess the signal took awhile to be found, so I was very happy that we had On Star with our new car. It also helped to have our hotel close to the venue , we did not have very far to go before we got there. After we checked in, we went up to our room by taking an elevator which was also very nice, since I did not have to pull my luggage along behind me while climbing the stairs. After we found our room, that was also very nice, I settled in for the night to watch Believe , which was a mini series running on NBC. So, we relaxed and ate some snacks , before we got ready to go to sleep.

Part Ten: Heading Back Home

The next morning, we had a delicious breakfast in the hotel’s lobby. The gracious staff of our hotel, made fresh oatmeal, along with some pastries , and there were other breakfast items to choose from. I had the oatmeal, and mom shared a pastry with me , and she also had me share her muffin . I was a little embarrassed when I could not figure out how the milk dispenser worked, until a nice young man helped me out with that problem. I sweetly thanked him, and I enjoyed my breakfast. Once we were ready to go, we made sure we had everything, and I shielded my head with my program from the night before from the sun, which of course made me miss my hat. As we were walking to our car, another friendly staff member thanked us for staying with them and having breakfast with them. We thanked her , and she wished a safe trip home, before we loaded everything into the trunk, said a prayer to our heavenly Father for safe traveling mercies, I got tom tom up and running. We got onto the main road drove out of Orlando and towards home . After we got home, we thanked God for getting us home safe and sound, and a month later I started working on this review, and sorting out the details to share with my friends and my visitors. I also sent in my order form before the deadline, hoping to see next year’s show, but just like 2011 I was told that Stars On Ice would not be returning for 2015, so I also figured out the pattern, and if I was right then the next show would be in 2018, and I was right, but I was unable to attend .  However, I hope to see Stars On Ice in 2022, if they still have shows .  In the mean time, please enjoy watching the videos of the performances that I found for the 2014 show, and some were taken in Orlando.
